Thank you for visiting my web site. My name is John Broughton and I live in Northern Kentucky. In 1986, my father, who was then the president of the Cincinnati Carvers Guild, gave me a carving knife, and got me interested in woodcarving. After creating my first carving, which was a cedar letter opener, I joined the Cincinnati Carvers Guild, and shortly after that joined the National Wood Carving Association. In 1999, a new carving club called the River Valley Woodcarvers was organized in Northern Kentucky, and I was elected their first Vice-President. Following my retirement in 2000, I joined the Dayton Carvers Guild. Since I now have more time, additional carvings are coming. In 2007, I was elected to the office of President of the Cincinnati Carvers Guild, and at the same time became the show chairman for their annual carving show, which lasted four years.  In 2008, I joined the Ohio Valley Woodturners Guild and the Cincinnati Woodworkers Club since I am interested in advancing my knowledge of other aspects associated with wood. Besides being a relaxing hobby, "playing" with wood is very enjoyable to me.  I am happy to show you my creations.
